1930's Pot Metal Vintage Brooch With Glass Stones
Pot metal was used in the manufacture of costume jewellery during the early 20th century when other more precious metals were needed elsewhere. It is a heavier thicker metal that has the resemblance of pewter. It was a much more economical metal to use at the time, and often combined with stunning faux jewels cut by hand. The colour in these deep green and turquoise blue stones is stunning. It is a large brooch measuring 8.5cms length and 5cms across at the widest point. There is a firm roll over safety clasp .Condition is excellent, particularly considering its age. Gift boxed by Vintageonline.
