Sarah Coventry Vintage Brooch and Earrings

Sarah Coventry was an American costume jewellery company founded in 1949 by Lyman K Stuart who named it after his granddaughter. The company grew in to a large direct selling business and was known for its inexpensive high quality pieces. The original company went bankrupt in 1981, and although it was taken over by other companies that continued to sell under the Sarah Coventry name it never re gained its success of the great mid century period when this lovely set is from. The name became obsolete with closure in 2009.  The brand is still popular with collectors today. A recent acquisition from USA. The brooch measures almost 5cms across. There are a rainbow of coloured crystals set in gold tone metal with signature and firm roll over safety clasp to the back.  The matching earrings measure 2cms across and are clip on mechanism - firm and comfortable.
