Catherine Popesco Paris Vintage Brooch

After discovering a treasure trove of antique jewellery moulds from the 1900's to 1930's during the early 1980's, Catherine Popesco used them to create hand made jewellery reviving the style of Art Nouveau and Art Deco eras. Her workshop was originally established in the Loire Valley, France using traditional French techniques, such as hand setting crystals and using a base of silver or copper.  The gaps in between the brooch decoration is filled in with a lilac vermeil. The brand is now part of the company Au Bout de Reves, under the name La Vie Parisienne and is still in business today, with a more modern style being produced. These lovely 80's brooches are highly collectable and this is a lovely example. Overall dimension is 5.5cms x 4cms. Pewter with raised floral emblems and hand set crystals. The Catherine Popesco signature France, is to be back along with a firm roll over safety clasp.  In excellent condition, gift boxed by Vintageonline.
