1920's Paste Blue & Clear Crystal Brooch
A very lovely example of an early paste brooch. Paste is simply hand cut glass placed on metallic foil base to emulate precious stones and was popular from the 18th century right up until the 1920's and 1930's when it was seen as a lovely alternative to diamonds and other precious stones. This one has six tear drop shaped faux blue sapphires with a central clear crystal stone and clear crystal frame. Overall dimension is 3.5cms across set in to pot metal with a simple C clasp. In very good condition, and gift boxed by Vintageonline.
