1930's Paste Diamante Necklace

Paste jewellery dates back to France and the 18th Century when Georges Frederick Stras began hand crafting fine quality paste in 1724. It became extremely popular and the quality of the stones was so good that it was often impossible to tell the difference between paste stones and the real thing. It continued in popularity from then on through the Georgian, Victorian, Edwardian and Art Deco eras.This is a lovely classic necklace with clear diamante's set in to rhodium plated pot metal. The diamante's sparkle from end to end and the necklace is finished with a ring clasp. Width of each of the rhinestone segments is a little over a cm and the length end to end is 41cms.  In excellent condition, and gift boxed by Vintageonline.
