Hattie Carnegie Designer Vintage Triple Strand Necklace with Earrings
Hattie Carnegie arrived in New York around 1900 where she settled with her Austrian family in the garment district. From there as a teenager she went on originally to work with hats at Macys - hence the name "Hattie" and eventually into her own couturier business and eventually into the production of costume jewellery as well. The company operated until the 1970's, and this beautiful three strand necklace with earrings comes from the later 1970 period.
There is a lovely combination of fully faceted aurora borealis stones, foil glass, art glass, gold filigree end caps and tiny gold beads to separate. There is a push in clasp which matches the clip on earrings. The clip on earrings each have a centrepiece art glass bead surrounded by textured gold tone metal leaves. They are signed Carnegie. The necklace is unsigned but still has the original Hattie Carnegie swing tag.
This set comes from a jewellery shop in New York which closed in the 1970's so it has never actually been worn.
Measurement of the earrings across is 2cms.Measurement of the necklace end to end is approx 40cms. This set is in perfect condition having been unworn during the past 50 years since its manufacture. Pristine, and gift boxed by Vintage Online.
