1940's Lucite and Antiqued Metal Dress Clip-Vintageonline-Vintage Online

1940's Lucite and Antiqued Metal Dress Clip

$50.00 AUD

Dress Clips were popular from the 1920's through to the 1950's period. It was after the Dupont Corporation produced lucite in 1941 that it became very popular in the manufacture of costume jewellery. Although the top blue stone appears to be a gemstone the grape like bunch of stones are lucite.  Lucite was popular because it was much stronger than previous plastics. Dress clips are wearable in many ways and this one would look lovely attached to a chain around the neck, to the V shaped neckline of a dress or attached to the neckline of a shirt. It is fairly substantial in size measuring 4.5cms x 4.5cms. It is in very good condition considering its age and has a firm ornate clip to the back.  Gift boxed by Vintageonline.
